Recent Paintings 2019In 2019 I began a new series of dream and fantasy landscape paintings, based on my lifelong search to give voice to my internal visions where dream, symbol, memory, and a personal iconography combine in a dancing choreography on the canvas. The new paintings have a childlike quality, and indeed return me to very early years in my life where I could lose myself for hours on end, creating a colorful fantasy world based on objects which represented for me objects in the real world.

My Sketchbook DraftsThe majority of the new paintings in 2019 are based on rough sketches and drafts on paper, where I used acrylics, oil pastels, charcoal, and ink sticks to seek and discover my internal dream images. These sketches represent a search for the inner symbolism and forms that give voice to my innermost world and being, a world that both carries me back to my early childhood, but draws on life experiences as an adult, where I have constantly been seeking the art, color, forms, music, and rhythm that speak to me on the deepest levels of my being.

recent Paintings 2017- 2018In 2017-2018, I carried further the insights I had achieved when working with collage and tried to bring them to a more powerful and personal expression. Many of these paintings were inspired by the collage work.
